Buzz is he'll return to host 'Dus Ka Dum 3' at twice the fee he was paid for season two

If anyone had any doubts about Salman Khan's star value, he'll soon be getting a big, fat paycheque to prove them wrong. Salman, who very successfully hosted 'Dus Ka Dum' for two seasons, will be making a return to the hit TV show. And his fee has reportedly been doubled from about Rs 80 lakh per episode to Rs 1.5 crore per episode. The show airs on Sony, and sources say that both the channel and the production company behind 'Dus Ka Dum' feel that Salman totally deserves the raise that he is getting.

With a super entertaining Salman hosting, and bringing along a lot of his star friends on the show, 'Dus Ka Dum' has always had good TRPs. And with the other shows on the channel not doing as well as expected, it makes sense that they're keen to bring Salman back, and make it worth his while.

So who do you think the special guests are going to be this season on 'Dus Ka Dum'? We'd love to see Sallu and SRK together, would be fun to see what the frenemies would have to say to each other!

Shahrukh's my idol, says Salman Khan

Salman Khan might not like SRK's personal attitude, but he is all praises for the actor's dedication, professional attitude and physical features.

The actor was all praises for his Khan counterpart duting his television show Dus Ka Dum.

In one episode of the game show on Sony Television, Salman said, "When it comes to romantic scenes nobody can do it better than Shah Rukh Khan. He is professionally great."

As if this was not enough, Salman went on to say that Shah Rukh has beautiful eyes.

"SRK has such beautiful eyes, it can make anyone go crazy," Salman said, adding, "SRK is the king of romance."

Salman also praised the sincerity and dedication of Shah Rukh. He said that no one can be more professional than SRK and that he marvels at his dedication towards work. SRK was his idol when it comes to his attitude for work, Salman added.

Sridevi to appear on ’10 Ka Dum’

She’ll be promoting husband Boney Kapoor’s film ‘Wanted’

Bollywood actress Sridevi will be seen in a rare appearance on Sony TV's game show "10 Ka Dum 2" hosted by Salman Khan. Her producer husband Boney Kapoor will also be there.

Sridevi, who has been on a stretched sabbatical from the arc lights, went on the show specially to promote her husband's upcoming film "Wanted". Releasing on Sept 18, the film stars Salman as the protagonist.

Sridevi, last seen in the 1999 Malayalam movie "Devaraagam", also made an exception for the sake of Salman with whom she featured in a number of projects including "Chandramukhi" and "Chand Ka Tukda". The last Hindi film she acted in was 1997 release "Kaun Sachcha Kaun Jhootha".

Boney and Sridevi will be joined by the film's lead actress Ayesha Takia and director Prabhudheva.

"Now we can all shamelessly promote our film 'Wanted'," said Salman.

The episode will be aired on Saturday (Sept 19) at 9 p.m.

Revel, Don't Reveal

Everyone knows that Salman Khan likes his girls to dress modestly read no revealing clothes. So whenever his heroines arrive on the sets of his show 10 Ka Dum in sexy dresses, he ribs them.

Says a source present on the sets, "Rani had everyone gasping when she walked in dressed in her little black number.

Salman wickedly suggested some dance moves for her which he knew would be impossible to do in that micro mini."

He'd pulled the same trick on Shilpa and Kareena too. The only person spared was girlfriend Katrina Kaif maybe because she knows him and came dressed in a simple T-shirt and jeans.

Farah Khan, mard ko bhi dard hota hai

Bizman files complaint against the director for 'men are dogs' comment on TV show

Director Farah Khan has hurt the sentiments of Chembur businessman Abdul Samad Khan with her comments on TV show Dus Ka Dum.

Farah, who appeared with actress Deepika Padukone on the show on August 1, reportedly said, "Mard kutte hote hain, lekin wafadar nahin hote."

Angered by the comment, Abdul filed a complaint against Farah with the Social Service Branch on Tuesday.

Abdul, who owns a consultancy firm, said, "Farah should not have forgotten that she was on television. Such offensive language against men is unacceptable.

Our Constitution grants equal rights to both the sexes and she has no right to compare men with animals."

When asked whether he wanted an apology, Abdul said, "We will take the legal route now. Strict action should be taken against her."

R R Joshi of the Social Service branch said, "It is not a cognisable offence, but we will take necessary action only after taking a legal opinion."

Anita Basu, producer, Dus Ka Dum refused to comment saying, "I just learnt of the complaint. I don't know what he is talking about."

Despite repeated attempts Farah couldn't be reached. She did not reply to SMSes either.

The August 8 episode of Salman Khan’s TV show “10 Ka Dum” will be a star-studded one.

Brothers Arbaaz and Sohail join Salman once again this season – but this time to promote their film “Kisaan”.

Producer Sohail Khan comes along with his cast - Arbaaz, Dia Mirza, Nauheed Cyrusi and Jackie Shroff. There is a special guest too, Sanjay Dutt.

Jackie and Sanju are the celebrity contestants in this episode, which showcases the camaraderie between the three handsome heroes. All three share candid moments.

Sanjay Dutt will be seen in a mood to share some very personal thoughts on the most difficult times in his life -- the drug phase when he would get high and sleep endlessly, much to the dismay of his late father Sunil Dutt, and even his jail days.

Salman too shared his experience of being in jail.

Jackie, the eldest of the three, sang, danced and advised all the impressionable young people out there to not follow the wrong path – there’s a heavy price to pay for it!

This episode of ‘10 Ka Dum’ will air on Saturday, August 8, at 9.00pm on Sony TV.

Salman leaves Farah red-faced!

Choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan says that Bollywood star Salman Khan had left her red-faced when he took her along for the auditions of his super hit 1989 film "Maine Pyar Kiya".

Farah recalled the incident when she came on the reality show "Dus Ka Dum 2", which is being hosted by Salman.

"He (Salman) took me along so that I could show him a few steps to do before director Sooraj Barjatya. But when Salman did the steps, it was so appalling that I simply picked up by footwear, hailed a cab and took off home," said Farah on the show.

Salman, who started blushing after his secret was revealed, agreed that he did have two left feet then and later even demonstrated the step he was required to perform at the auditions, said a source from the sets of the show.

Shilpa’s mom wants Sallu for her wedding

In fact, she wants all her friends to be there

Though she isn’t talking openly about it, Shilpa Shetty is all set to marry boyfriend Raj Kundra this November or December, depending on the dates astrologers find most auspicious.

Shilpa’s mom Sunanda Shetty is meticulously planning everything to make it a memorable occasion for Shilpa.

One of the things she wants is that all of Shilpa’s friends should attend the wedding, so she’s making sure everyone will be in town at that time.

Recently, when Sunanda Shetty accompanied Shilpa to the sets of Salman Khan’s TV show ‘10 Ka Dum’, in which the actress is making an appearance along with cricketer Irfan Pathan, the one thing Mama Shetty wanted to know from Salman was his schedule in order to make sure he attends Shilpa’s wedding.

By the way, the ‘10 Ka Dum’ episode featuring Shilpa and Irfan will air on Sony TV on July 18, 2009.

Well, we all know about the special friendship Shilpa Shetty shares with Salman Khan. Living up to their friendship, Shilpa agreed to make an appearance on Sallu’s TV show ‘10 Ka Dum’.

A source said, “Shilpa has great regard for Salman. There have been times when Sallu has stood by her and vice-versa. The two became good friends when Shilpa did Sohail Khan’s ‘Auzaar’ with Salman.”

Shilpa Shetty will donate the money won on ‘10 Ka Dum’.

“Shilpa has generously given away all the money won in the contest. She believes that giving in abundance will attract abundance. Shilpa’s appearance in ‘10 Ka Dum is something to watch out for,” added the source.

It’s father-son’s first joint appearance on TV

Salman Khan’s name and presence was enough to draw the ever reticent and rarely-seen-in -public Sunny Deol to the game show ‘10 Ka Dum’.

Saif chooses girlfriend Kareena rather than Deepika for Salman's Dus ka Dum

On Wednesday evening, Deepika Padukone, heroine of Saif Ali Khan's home production Love Aaj Kal, made an appearance on Salman Khan's 10 Ka Dum, to promote the film. Saif Ali Khan was to join her but begged off saying he was abroad and therefore unavailable.

Later that evening, it came to light that the Chote Nawab was very much in the country. In fact, he was with his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor. Bebo was in Delhi shooting for 3 Idiots. They were seen together in the evening at the five-star hotel they were staying at.

The couple was in London last week for the T20 series but Bebo flew back early to report on her set. Says a Source, "Saif was booked to appear on 10 Ka Dum to promote Love Aaj Kal with Deepika but he called up the producers Anita and Siddharth Basu a few days before the event and said he couldn't be there as he'd be out of the country."

Saif says, "I was not in town and therefore unable to manage it. 10 Ka Dum is a great show and a good platform to promote a film from. It's my loss."

When asked about being in Delhi with girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, he admits, "Yes, I am spending time with Bebo, and I love doing that. But I am a producer too and I wouldn't spend time with her at the cost of promoting my film. That's extremely important too. I have been in Delhi for the promotion of Love Aaj Kal giving interviews and other work. As far as appearing on 10 Ka Dum is concerned, I will decide as a producer what I want to promote and where. If Deepika is seen on that show, then I will be seen on another show."

Anita Basu of Synergy says, "It's Saif's prerogative whether he's available or not. He said he wouldn't be able to come with Deepika because he had other work. There was unavailability of dates. We have been trying various permutation-combinations of different celebrities. Some work out and some don't. He didn't back out at the last moment. Initially Saif and Deepika were supposed to come together but it didn't work out for whatever reasons."

Salman drops Akshaye from TV show

According to sources, for the promotion of Anil Kapoor’s home production “Short Kut – The Con Is On”, Akshaye Khanna and Anil were to appear on Salman Khan’s TV show “10 Ka Dum”.

Everything was fine and the dates too had been fixed. But suddenly Salman suggested that it would be better to have Arshad Warsi and Anil Kapoor on the show rather than Akshaye Khanna and Anil Kapoor.

He also justified it by saying that Akshaye has got a very serious type of image which would make the show quite boring. So to make it interesting he suggested Arhsad’s name, who also features in the film.

Anil, who is a good friend of Salman, did not have a problem with this and the fresh dates for the shoot are being worked on.

Apparently this comes a day after Anil blasted Akshaye for not promoting “Short Kut”. Akshaye has a problem with Arshad and hence he does not want to be part of any promotions.

With this episode, it seems that Arshad and Anil have joined hands and they do not want Akshaye anywhere in the picture.
