Genelia speaks her mind in the latest issue of Elle

One has to give it to the fotog for shooting her so differently! Well, Genelia does open up in this interview like she always has and shows her 'good' side. She goes on record to say that, "For us, the film industry was this big bad world- a place where people who didn't study landed up". Let's give it to this PYT for 'trying-to-be-diplomatic' when it comes to her love life. Even though she denies any confirmation about information on her love life, she does say that she is a 'fantastic girlfriend' who devotes herself to her relationship.
All in all, Genelia is the way to go... to be 'Elle-gant' this season!

'Chance Pe Dance' has glimpses of Shahid's life
Shahid Kapur's next project "Chance Pe Dance" has a slice of his own life as the film traces the journey of a struggler till he tastes success."Yes, there are many scenes in the movie that are similar to my life, but it's not intentional, they have just turned out this way," Shahid said in a press release.
The movie is based on a dancer's life who enters a reality show after being rejected many times. Shahid, who plays the lead in the film, too had to give a lot of screen tests and auditions before he got the lead role in director Ken Ghosh's 2003 movie "Ishq Vishk".
According to a unit source, there's another scene in the film where Shahid's character is left with no option but to buy a second hand car due to his hardships, just like he had to in his own life.
Shahid once played the role of a tree in a school play. This too is reflected in the movie.
Ghosh is directing "Chance Pe Dance", and it also stars Genelia D'Souza. The film is being produced by UTV Motion Pictures and will release on Jan 15 next year.

First Look: Chance Pe Dance
Shahid Kapur was the obvious choice because Ken Ghosh works only with him and he is a fabulous dancer. He plays Sameer, a talented and passionate young struggling actor. Positive and brimming with energy, Sameer juggles various jobs while working towards getting his big break in the industry. During his struggle he meets Tina (Genelia D’souza) who is a choreographer.
Just when Sameer is promised his big break, he is left without a house as he cannot pay his rent. Not one to lose heart Sam starts living in his rickety old car and starts teaching dance in a school to young kids who have never won any dance competition. He hates kids and the kids hate dancing.
The struggle in life continues as the director who was to launch Sameer now decides to choose his hero through a talent hunt. Sam is shattered but he diverts his focus towards the kids. Getting over his initial dislike of children, Sam not only emotionally bonds with them, but also helps them win a prestigious inter-school dance competition and gets their confidence back - aided by the spirited and beautiful Tina.
Tina urges Sameer to enter the reality hunt, with the love and support from Tina and the kids, Sameer emerges a winner and eventually becomes what he was destined to be, a superstar.
Yahoo was the working title of the movie but they eventually chose the catchy Chance Pe Dance. Star was also considered in the initial stages but a movie called Superstar starring Kunal Khemu released in early 2007. The makers thought that if a movie with Kunal Khemu, who is hardly a star, can be called Superstar, how can a movie with Shahid Kapoor, who is a sizeable star with a huge fan following, be called only Star?
They were talks about Katrina Kaif being Shahid’s co-star but the makers eventually zeroed in on Jiah Khan. She shot for the film but was asked to leave halfway through. Reportedly, she got over-friendly with Shahid Kapoor and was not doing her job well. She was replaced by girl-next-door-of-the-moment, Genelia D’Souza who shot her scenes in a whirlwind schedule.
Commenting on the movie, Shahid Kapur said, “I have a very positive feeling about Genelia and me. We make a good pair on screen. Contrary to rumours, I have not interfered in the casting of the film. I love dancing and Justin Timberlake’s choreographer, Marty has choreographed the dance sequences in the movie.”
The movie releases on November 6, 2009

Kaminey v/s Life Partner
Keeping our views aside, with the help of celebrity astro-numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi, we unravel the fate of the two movies. The title Life Partner adds up to Number 44 (4 + 4 = 8) which is the Number of Saturn (Shani) known to give lots of hardships and struggle in life. The year 2009 which adds up to Number 2 is conversely opposite of that and that is why Numbers 2 and 8 generally do not gel well. In that context, I feel Life Partner may not have a ‘long life’ at the box office,” predicts Bhavikk.
“Similarly, Fardeen Khan is a Number 8 (March 8) while Tusshar Kapoor is a Number 2 (November 20). So in all probability, this ‘jodi’ has very less chances of clicking. Also the film’s anchor Govinda is currently running in his 46th year (4 + 6 = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1) year which is one of his weakest numbers and it seems like Govinda’s comic timing may also not be able to salvage the film beyond a point,” says Bhavikk.
“Numerologically speaking, things do not seem to be much in favour of this Life Partner,” concludes Bhavikk.
Dhan Te Nan, there is a bright side to this story to courtesy the good stars of Kaminey.
“The title Kaminey adds up to Number 19 which represents the Sun – the most powerful star of our solar system. Currently, the Sun is in the zodiac sign of Leo which is also ruled by the Sun. In that case, Kaminey has all the chances of hitting the bull’s eye,” predicts Bhavikk.
“Shahid Kapoor was born on February 25, 1981 and his destiny number also adds up to Number 1. He is in his 29th year (2 + 9 = 1 + 1 = 2) which is one of his strongest numbers. The year 2009 also adds up to Number 2. This is the best phase of his life and Shahid is likely to deliver an award winning performance in this film,” assures Bhavikk with a lot of confidence. He continues, “Director Vishal Bhardwaj is also a Leo (August 6) ruled by Number 1. The official release of the film may be 14th August but at most places it will be released on 13th August in the form of paid previews. Number 4 and Number 1 go hand in hand. This will further improve the film’s prospects at the box office, Swine Flu notwithstanding.”
“Kaminey has all the trappings to become the Number 1 film of the year!” signs off Sangghvi on a high note.
