Salman is Ready for his next

Salman Khan has started shooting for the next schedule of Ready, which promises a dose of humour, drama and action along with great music.

After breaking all box office records with Dabangg, Salman is back at his comic best in Ready, which is being produced by T-Series.

"Ready is a highly anticipated movie since it marks the coming together of Salman and director Anees Bazmee after No Entry, which did extremely well. Salman has impeccable comic timing and there's no denying the track record of the man with the Midas touch - Bhushan Kumar. By the looks of it Ready has blockbuster written all over it," said a source in a press statement.

Sallu’s Minting Money

Salman Khan is irreplaceable and this has just been proved! The dashing Khan walked out of Dus Ka Dum earlier this year due to a financial dispute with the TV channel.

For the first season of Dus Ka Dum, Salman charged Rs 89 crore whereas for the second season he asked for a small percentage of raise which didn’t quite happen. His fee was then agreeably cut down since the channel admitted a cash crunch due to the economic recession. The third season came along and according to insiders there was still no sign of increment from the channel.

Sallu bhai made it loud and clear when he walked out, that if he returns, he would return on his own terms. Tried as they might, they just couldn’t find someone good enough to replace the great Khan. It was no surprise that last week he was called by the broadcasters of the show. With Big Boss 4, Dus Ka Dum and Dabangg Salman might just top the rich list in T’Town this year.

Salman Khan suffering from a Blood Clot in the Eye - Photos

On 12th October 2010, Salman Khan tweeted that he is suffering from a blood clot in the eye due to which his vision is unclear and he had to stick to shades for the fashion show, "Thanks for the concern. It was just a small scratch near the eye but because of all the commitments with 'Bigg Boss', launch of 'Being Human' watches…and so the blood clot spread in the whole eye. I was ok to walk the ramp without the glares but everyone who saw my eye got scared so I thought it best to wear the chashmas (glasses)…Black, hazel, brown, light brown etc , so for a few days I have 1 red and 1 light brown hehehe enjoy."

Salman even said that he had a fun time scaring the beauties backstage with his bloody eye. He also assured his concerned fans that he would recover in a few days and his eye would look normal again. We're hoping to see two light brown eyes soon…

Well, now we know that the insidious report against Salman not attending the Big Boss special shoot on Sunday due to the alleged late night partying is untrue. And we hope that the 'Dabangg' Salman, who is under a lot of pain because of the blood clot in his eye, recovers soon.

Salman's scary secret revealed

Salman Khan has been seen wearing glares pretty much all the time these days, but it is not his new style statement, and nor has he had surgery. He is wearing them because of a scratched eye.

At three recent events in Mumbai - the eviction episode of 'Bigg Boss 4', the launch of Being Human watches and the Being Human fashion show at the HDIL-India Couture Week - Salman wore sunnies.

"I was okay to walk the ramp without the glares but everyone who saw my eye got scared. So I thought it best to wear the 'chashmas'," Salman posted on his Twitter page.

He explained the reason behind the bruised eye.

"It was just a small scratch near the eye but because of all the commitments with 'Bigg Boss', launch of Being Human watches ...the Being Human fashion show, had to attend all these functions and so because of the energy the blood clot spread in the whole eye."

"Of course it hurts and vision is slightly blurred, but will be fine in a few days," he added.

Salman walked the couture week ramp with Priety Zinta, Katrina Kaif, Rani Mukerji, Bipasha Basu, Karishma Kapoor, Sushmita Sen, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor. He says he loved scaring them all with his bruised eye.

"I had a lot of fun scaring all my beautiful leading ladies backstage."

Did Salman have surgery?

Bollywood stars are always flying over to Dubai to shop and shoot, but we hear Salman Khan was in the city recently on a hush-hush trip for some surgery.

Rumour has it that Sallu was in town for the cosmetic procedure to get rid of the bags under his eyes. And that's the reason he's been seen sporting those massive sunnies on 'Bigg Boss 4' and even his Being Human fashion show at HDIL Couture Week.

The star definitely seems to be working to retain his youth, from the abs to the bags. So what’s next? We'll be keeping our eye on Salman.

Katrina heats up Salman's fashion show

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif might not be a couple anymore, but she's still there for him when it comes to supporting his charity. Kat joined B'wood's hottest women - Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu - on the ramp for Salman's Being Human show at HDIL Couture Week.

Also on the ramp were Karisma Kapur Priety Zinta and Sushmita Sen. All the stars wore Manish Malhotra's creations and diamond jewllery by Forevermark.

The theme for the show was 'Fashion Throughout the Ages', with each era of the Hindi film industry defined.
Before the actresses walked down the ramp, a short audio-visual was screened on the particular period and dances were performed to highlight the entertainment of that time.

For instance, the 1930s were defined by tap dance and the 1940s by qawallis.

The first to hit the runway was Priety Zinta, dressed in black, representing 1920s elegance and glamour.

She was followed by Katrina Kaif. Dressed in a long red gown, she depicted the 1930s, known for "Fearless" Nadia for her stunts in films like 'Hunterwali'.

Then, Rani Mukherji walked the ramp in a black velvet choli and white lehenga, bringing alive the elegance of the 1940s.

To recreate the flirtatious 1950s, Bipasha Basu walked the ramp in a short black outfit looking her sexiest best.

The swinging 1960s was dominated by Shammi Kapoor and the rock and roll culture and who better than his grand niece Karisma Kapoor to do justice to it! Draped in a red sari, the actress, who has taken a break from work, oozed glamour and poise.

Then came Sushmita Sen, who depicted the flamboyance and freedom of women in 1970s, dressed in multi-coloured kaftan top and golden mini skirt.

After this it was Priyanka Chopra's turn to wow. Dressed in a white baby-doll dress, she represented the silver screen's glam girls of the 1980s.

After that was Kareena Kapoor, in a smart and sexy black power suit, walking the ramp depicting the women of the 1990s.

Finally, there was Salman, who wore red trousers and a black trench coat with glares and walked the ramp with a smile.

Last year it was all guys for Salman as he had teamed up with stars like Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt for the show.

This year while he had Katrina on the show, the two never got too close to each other. Preity Zinta was the chosen buffer, and we've got to say - she did a good job!

Salman is still single because...

Why is Salman Khan still single? Dad Salim Khan has the answer to the question that has vexed so many of his fans - 'mama's boy' Salman, he says, can't fix on a girl because he mostly falls for actresses who can't pamper him like his mother.

"There's a contradiction in Salman's character. He gets attracted to women from his industry only... his co-stars become his love interests. Once a relationship is established, he starts looking for his mom in them. Now that is not possible," Salim told trade analyst Komal Nahta on ETC's show Bollywood Business.

"A woman who has just started her career can't be doing stuff like preparing meals, washing clothes, looking after kids and yet lead the hectic life of a movie star! This expectation can't be met by a woman who has just started her film career…not even if she tries," reasoned the 74-year-old, who made a rocking scriptwriting team with Javed Akhtar.

Salman, 44, who is Salim's eldest son, has been involved with actresses like Somy Ali, Sangeeta Bijlani and Aishwarya Rai.

The 44-year-old is said to have split from his latest girlfriend, actress Katrina Kaif.

Salim dodged the question, saying: "I can't say if Katrina is in Salman's life... If a marriage decision stretches for so long, it usually does not happen. It means that the person is not 100 percent sure to get into it…that's why the delay."

According to Salim, who has scripted films like 'Seeta aur Geeta', 'Zanjeer', 'Deewaar', 'Sholay' and 'Trishul', Salman suffers heartbreaks because for most of his girls the prime motive is stardom.

"Whenever girls have come into Salman's life, they are looking to be a movie star. So settling down is the last thing on their minds. So the relationships reach a saturation point and then fizzle out."

Salim has two other sons - Arbaaz and Sohail, and a daughter, Alvira, from his first wife Salma. He later married Bollywood's cabaret queen Helen, and adopted a daughter named Arpita.

The episode featuring the writer in a candid mood will air on ETC on October 8.

Salman turns Santa

Salman Khan's bonding with his 'Dabangg' co-star Sonu Sood just gets stronger and stronger. And now Sonu's got an official seal of approval. We hear that Salman has presented Sonu with a Being Human watch. It's of course a special branded watch from Salman's charitable foundation, and only close friends of the star have been presented by it.

And this isn't the first time that Salman has made a gesture that puts Sonu firmly in the close circle. Earlier, while shooting for 'Dabangg', Salman tried to get Sonu to turn non-vegetarian (for health reasons, cause Sallu thinks non-veg food is healthier!). He'd even put pieces of meat in Sonu's plate while they were shooting together.

Sonu was touched by Salman's gift, and actually took off his own watch to give Salman something in return. But Sallu bhai returned the watch back to Sonu, saying there'd be other chances in the future for gift-giving. How sweet! Now if only Salman were so considerate with his other earlier co-stars too, particularly a certain someone who shares his initials!

Salman for free

So, a little birdie tells us that Salman Khan has done the Tees Maar Khan song for free for his buddy and co-producer Akshay Kumar. It's almost like the time when Akki didn't charge money for umm, err... darn, can't remember. Can you?

While on AK, do you know he isn't following any of his Khan friends on Twitter. Not Aamir, not Salman and not even SRK. The only Khan he is following is Farah Khan. We call it the Tees Maar Khan effect.

Salman-Katrina’s dance drama

We’re going ‘Walla Walla’ after watching Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar in their Qawali number for Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’. The song has Sallu and Akki in a pretend-fight over Kat (hmm…imagine that!).

The real question is – Were Salman and Katrina fighting during the shooting? Nothing of that sort it seems. Apparently the couple (or former couple) were fairly cordial to one another and had fun while shooting the song (thanks to buffers Akshay and Farah maybe).

While Salman and Akki were dressed in colourful vests, scarves and caps; Kat made for a rather sober picture, considering she plays an item girl in the movie.

Dabangg success party - Photos

"May Dabangg do better than 3 Idiots'

'Dabangg' should make 10 times more money than '3 Idiots, Aamir Khan said at a party thrown by Salman Khan to celebrate the success of the cop comedy.

"I am very happy that Salman's 'Dabangg' got so much success. That's why I have come to give him a hug and congratulate him. I would always pray that his film makes 10 times more than what '3 Idiots' did," Aamir told reporters at the success party of the film held at Vie Lounge in Mumbai. Aamir and Salman have become very close in recent times, and are pretty much regulars at each others parties.

Report says in two weeks 'Dabangg' has done business of Rs.116 crore net and the third week has opened well on single screens. The film revolves around a corrupt cop Chulbul Pande, played by Salman, and his life.

The party was for the cast, crew and close friends, says actor-turned-producer Arbaaz Khan, who was thrilled with the success of his first production venture.

Salman made a brief appearance for the media and said, "Thank you so much. I am very happy."

This was Abhinav Kashyap's first film as director and he too was very happy with the sucess. "I am in the seventh heaven," he said.

When Malaika Arora Khan, who features in the 'Munni' song, was asked if she had expected her husband Arbaaz's debut production to be a record breaking hit, she said, "No, one can ever predict the fate of the film before hand, but, of course, we pray for its success. The magnitude of the response and the collections of the film are overwhelming."

Among the guests were director David Dawan and he said: "This is the biggest hit of Salman. He is outstanding and everyone knows that. After watching the film I was quite sure that it would be a big hit."

Chunky Pandey, Sonu Niigaam, Subhash Ghai and Vidhu Vinod Chopra also joined Salman for the party.

Salman's back on Twitter

After his comments on the 26/11 Mumbai attacks caused an uproar, Salman Khan wrote that he might be going off Twitter. But the man's changed his mind now, and he's back with a bang on the site.

Salman posted on his Twitter page today, "Kamaal karte ho yaar! Thank u fr wanting me to cm bak n sorry to leave but do understand that I tweet any thing n me frnds n family panic."

Salman had tweeted earlier, after the controversy, "Looks like I mite hv to get off twitter. Don't want to but wat to do? I think I messed up,so sorry guys,$sorry bolne mein koi sharam nahi."

And after his return to Twitter, Salman was back to his usual fun and at times completely random musings. He actually posted pictures of fingers and wondered if any astrologer could read 'this man's' hand!

And later he posted a sketch (we guess one he's drawn himself) and wrote, "Sonakshi ji yeh Chullll Bulllll Pandey bana rahi hai."

This was followed by a national integration from the star - "Hindu Muslim Sikh Isahi sab hai bhai bhai. Na ladna na jhagadna bus ek doosare se pyaar karna. Hum sab saath saath hai :)"
