Salma Khan reveals more secrets on TV show

Salman Khan has often made headlines for getting into verbal and physical fights, but very few know that the 43-year-old Bollywood star still gets beaten up by his mother Salma.

"As a child, Salman was very naughty He used to get the most beating...still does," Salma told choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan on her soon-to-be-launched celebrity chat show "Tere Mere Beach Mein" going on air on STAR Plus on Sunday (Aug 23).

When Farah asked "Is it just a pat?", Salman, who was the first celebrity guest for the show, said: "Are you mad or what? It comes as such a phatak (tight slap)...I reel under its heavy impact and wonder where it came from! I tell her that how can you beat me mamma, I'm a grown up man now."

Some of the actor's best kept secrets were also unravelled on the show. For instance, she revealed that she still stays up waiting for him at the window till he returns home. Salma said that all her kids tease her for this habit.

"They say that the building doesn't need a watchman with me keeping guard all night," she said.

Sallu Bhai kicks the butt

Salman Khan has finally quit smoking; the actor has been on a cleansing spree after he gave up the bottle on friend Aamir Khan’s insistence.

Sallu Miyan goes on to speak on his blog about his achievement, ‘I have quit smoking. For my family and friends it’s the greatest news and if we were publishing a daily family bulletin, it would make the headline, in the boldest, biggest possible letters.’

The actor had been trying to kick the butt for a while now and felt he was captured by the ‘small, burning, foul smelling, filthy thing’. ‘A six-pack man who slogs for at least hundred minutes in the gym everyday was dominated by this two inch long destroyer that burns end to end in just three minutes!’ the beefy actor added.

Salman’s drunken stupors were known by each and everyone in the industry. His outbursts were feared by many and the actor found it difficult to tone up for his gladiator role in his upcoming film Veer. Many of Sallu’s close friends and relatives advised him to give up his deadly vices but it all fell on deaf ears.

But now Sallu’s a changed man, its been months since he touched the bottle and speaks of the memories of his dirty habit, saying‘ My memories of smoking still haunt me because it has been a habit that you practice from the moment you wake up and stub the last one just before sleeping. Some people need it very badly when they are in the toilet. In fact, most youngsters pick up this nasty habit in the toilet… only because they think they can’t get caught there.’

The actor then signed off saying, ‘I have fought several villains on and off screen but the toughest villain to fight, is quitting smoking!’

Kudos to the actor, lets hope he doesn’t have to kick the butt again!

Sanjay Dutt and Jackie play ‘10 Ka Dum’

The August 8 episode of Salman Khan’s TV show “10 Ka Dum” will be a star-studded one.

Brothers Arbaaz and Sohail join Salman once again this season – but this time to promote their film “Kisaan”.

Producer Sohail Khan comes along with his cast - Arbaaz, Dia Mirza, Nauheed Cyrusi and Jackie Shroff. There is a special guest too, Sanjay Dutt.

Jackie and Sanju are the celebrity contestants in this episode, which showcases the camaraderie between the three handsome heroes. All three share candid moments.

Sanjay Dutt will be seen in a mood to share some very personal thoughts on the most difficult times in his life -- the drug phase when he would get high and sleep endlessly, much to the dismay of his late father Sunil Dutt, and even his jail days.

Salman too shared his experience of being in jail.

Jackie, the eldest of the three, sang, danced and advised all the impressionable young people out there to not follow the wrong path – there’s a heavy price to pay for it!

This episode of ‘10 Ka Dum’ will air on Saturday, August 8, at 9.00pm on Sony TV.
