Kangana gifts herself a diamond
Kangana Ranaut celebrated her 21st birthday yesterday quietly at home with sister Rangoli. The actress gifted herself a huge diamond ring some days back as a birthday gift.
Though she doesn’t want to comment on her driver incident (who alleges that she abused and slapped him) Kangana says, “I bought a four-karat diamond ring some time ago. It was a gift to myself. In fact my accountant was shocked at the exorbitant amount.
There are times when I blow up everything and at times I’ll go for months without any big buys. When I came to Mumbai, I had Rs 60,000 in my account and I blew up Rs 58,000 by buying a Moschino dress.”
Kangana adds that her place was flooded with flowers, chocolates and gifts on her birthday. “I love books so I bought a lots of them as well as pictures of Swami Vivekananda. In the afternoon, I decided to pamper myself with a massage, beauty treatment and the works at a spa.
The evening was followed with a wonderful dinner cooked by Rangoli at home. I thought it was high time I indulged myself.”
The pretty actress thinks of her big day as a special one. “I wanted to go to the Swami Nityananda ashram in Ganeshpuri at Vasai but couldn’t because of some meetings. I have gone to the ashram earlier with my friend Rita Dhody. On my birthday I sit and ask myself many questions.
Rangoli tells me that I have achieved so much when still young. I do miss the pooja we used to have on our birthdays at home when we were children. The ceremony used to make me feel protected and secure.”
Though Kangana was disappointed at not being able to go to the ashram, she celebrated her birthday by doing what she wanted. “I am a follower of Swami Vivekanand’s teachings, the principle of karmayoga and the Ramakrishna Mission.
I got up in the morning with my usual session of meditation, followed by a trip to the Siddhivinayak and Jari Mari Mata Devi temples. When I reached home Rangoli had bought a huge chocolate cake for me to cut.”
Kangana features in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion, Anurag Basu’s Kites and Mohit Suri’s Raaz.
