Saif and Bebo's lovemaking sequence in Qurbaan might overshadow the rest

Rensil D'Silva, who's now working on the final schedule of his directorial debut Qurbaan is afraid that a love-making sequence between Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan might become the central point of interest for his film, overshadowing the powerful theme of a terrorist's road to atonement.

"That fear is there, I can't deny it.

The love-making sequence, though absolutely essential to the film is explicit and honest enough to become a focal point of interest for the audience. There's enough sexual repression in our country.

A section of the audience might decide to see the film only to see the real-life couple making love on screen. It would be tragic."

Kareena and Saif's love-making sequence incorporates the longest kissing sequence of their individual careers.

So far Kareena's sister Karisma holds the record for the longest kissing sequence on screen with Aamir Khan in Raja Hindustani. Will Qurbaan break that record?

"I don't know," shrugs Rensil. "I wasn't clocking the kiss or the length of the lovemaking scene.

Nor have I seen Raja Hindustani. But I do know Kareena and Saif were thorough professionals and were able to do the difficult scene so smoothly because of their comfort level."

The set had been cleared of the entire crew except the director and cameraman. "It was not an easy sequence to shoot. It was an aesthetic experience. And I hope the audience treats it that way."

Bebo 'censors' sexy scene with Saif

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have reportedly shot an aesthetic love-making sequence in Karan Johar’s Qurbaan that involves more physical exposure and intimacy than perhaps the actress’ censorship instincts allow.

Now, she intends asking director Rensil D’Silva to delete one scene from that sequence in which her bare back is visible.

There is a point beyond which Kareena won’t go for any filmmaker. And ever since Saif and she filmed the sequence, she has been wondering what both sets of parents might think on seeing in. “We are actors and can’t be coy after accepting a film on a bold subject like Qurbaan. I’ve done kissing scenes earlier. But the love-making scene is explicit by my yardstick. It comes at a crucial stage in the narration. And Saif made sure I was comfortable,” said the actress.

Kareena is a favourite of both, the producer and director, and it’s possible that Karan and Rensil might listen to her and have the bare back scene removed. The audience will be the loser. Ah well, there’s always Kambakkth Ishq in case you want to know what Kareena’s back looks like!

Saif and Vivek land in legal trouble in New York

Saif Ali Khan and Vivek Oberoi ran into trouble with some policemen while shooting for Rensil D'Silva's film Qurbaan in New York. Both the actors were almost arrested while shooting for the film.

A source said, "Vivek and Saif were shooting in a hilly region in New York. It was a scene where both the actors had to drive a car and the camera was placed quite far, as it was a long shot. The actors kept driving for a long time as they were required to give various takes, because the scene was being shot from several angles. However, the locals, who had no clue that a film shoot was on, started getting suspicious when they saw the two Indians driving around aimlessly. They wasted no time in calling the cops, who immediately came and started questioning Vivek and Saif.”

Vivek and Saif told the policemen that they were actors from India and were shooting for a film. However, the cops refused to believe them. Much to the frustration of the two actors, the cops flatly refused to believe that a shooting was on, as there were no crew member or camera nearby.

“Even though the production team saw what was happening on their monitors, and one of them immediately rushed to help, it took him a good 10 minutes before he could reach the actors. By then, the cops had almost arrested them on suspicion and were all set to take them to the police station. However, the unit member rescued the actors in the nick of time. The cops only let them go after all the necessary documents were shown,” added the source.
