Rani Ka Vrat
In a bid to save her dying career, Rani Mukherjee is observing a 40 day fast to revive her Bollywood career.
The actress has always been superstitious and until recently she had also moved out of her Juhu home considering it unlucky for her career. Rani who has had a spate of flops starting from Tara Rum Pum, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic is praying hard for her next film Dil Bole Hadippa to be a hit.
This being the reason behind the fasting period, Rani has been observing fasts every Thursday since three months and will do so for 40 weeks. A group of eight pundits perform a puja at her place and one of the priests recently spilled the beans to the press, ‘A total of 108 prayers are performed and Rani has committed to follow the ritual for 40 Thursdays which will help in bringing her good luck.’ he revealed.
Dil Bole Hadippa is the only film in Rani’s kitty along side Shahid Kapur. The film also stars item girls Rakhi Sawant and Sherlyn Chopra and is a rip-off of Amanda Bynes starrer She’s the Man. Set in Punjab, the story is about a Sikh girl impersonating a boy to join the men’s cricket team.
Rani is also working hard in the gym and is following a strict diet to loose all that flab. Frankly, StarBoxOffice feels with the kind of effort Rani is putting in now, she should have done while choosing the right script for in the end isn’t that what matters!
