Aamir Khan and Kate Winslet in the same frame

Pan Nalin wants to make S’aadat Haasan Manto’s popular short story, Toba Tek Singh, into a film. To play the lead, he has Aamir Khan in mind.

The actor will play the role of the mad man affected by politically drawn lines (borders), caught in a no-man’s land between Pakistan and India. He hopes to rope in Kate Winslet for the role of Dr. Sophie.

However, if Kate disagrees, Nalin will try his luck with Rachel Weisz. He will look into the casting once he is back from the Cannes Film Festival.
