Salman promotes shahrukh's DON at the promotion party of his film Jaan-E-Mann

Salman Khan is aware that Jaan-E-Mann and Don have been pitted against each other this Diwali for a reason – to stir up controversial stories between him and Shah Rukh Khan. So he has gone a step ahead and extended an olive branch to SRK instead. "Bhai didn't want to give his detractors an opportunity to create a divide between Shah Rukh and him again," says a close friend of Salman Khan.

Salman actually made it a point to promote Shah Rukh's Don at the promotion party of his film Jaan-E-Mann. With this gesture, Salman tried to put an end to speculation about cold vibes between the two actors.

Salman, who made an entry just before midnight at the party, was in a jovial mood. He openly announced on stage, "Jab aap Jaan-E-Mann dekhne jaoge... lage haath Don bhi dekh lena. Bahut rocking film bani hai (After watching Jaan-E-Mann, please do watch Don. It's a rocking film)." He added that he's also emotionally attached to Don because his father co-wrote the script of the original film.

"Bhai is very fond of Shah Rukh and he is an emotional guy. In fact, he had tears in his eyes when he hugged Shah Rukh at the wedding. Since then, however, they haven't met each other," says our source.

Meanwhile, when the news of Salman promoting Don reached Shah Rukh Khan, he allegedly said that he would return the favour by mentioning Salman's Jaan-E-Mann at the media meet of Don too.

The trouble between the two Khans began when Salman created a scene with Aishwarya Rai on the sets of Chalte Chalte, a film which Shah Rukh produced and acted in. Later, at Farah Khan's wedding bash, they patched up. That time too, it was Salman who made the first move by hugging Shah Rukh.

Now the ball is in Shah Rukh's court. And we're waiting to see his shot.
