First Look: Tum Mile

Emran Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan find love whilst trapped in the 2006 Mumbai flood deluge in Mahesh Bhatt’s next offering Tum Mile.

Directed by Kunal Deshmukh of Jannat fame, the film boasts of some gripping flood sequences, trademark soulful Bhatt music but sadly Emran doesn’t get to pucker up in this flick. Yes, its true Soha refused to kiss the serial kisser himself and news were rife that Immi didn’t take it too well.

Rest assured, insiders can’t stop raving about the canvas of the film since the floods on the streets of Mumbai have been fantastically re-created.

Emran Hashmi confirmed to the press, ‘You should have been on the sets to believe it, Water level there was scary enough to actually drown people. Kunal (Deshmukh) wanted the situation to be an exact replica of the horrific flood situation that the city faced that fateful night. It was difficult to even imagine how commuters would have struggled with no support whatsoever.’

Tum Mile however isn’t the first film to be made on the deluge, a small budget film called 26th July at Barista starring newbies Kabier Sawhney and Simran Vaid was also made on the same issue. But the floods washed away the memories of the film and here's hoping Tum Mile doesn’t suffer the same fate too.
