Bollywood is urging you to vote!
With elections round the corner Bollywood is finding itself in the midst of all the political hoopla. Some actors are turning politicians. Some politicians are turning actors. Some will campaign for the parties that they support. And the rest who don’t fit in any of these three categories are telling you to stand up and vote!
The trend of encouraging the youth to vote began during the making of Delhi-6. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor recorded videos asking the public to go vote. Both Abhishek and Sonam’s video are all over YouTube and are quite a hit.
And now going a step further Tarun Mansukhani, Karan Johar, Imran Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham, Bipasha Basu, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar and Katrina Kaif are joinging hands to record videos that will help raise awareness among the youth to go out and cast the all important vote.
“It was Imran Khan who went to Karan and told him that the Bollywood fraternity should do something to create awareness amongst the youth of today. He explained to Karan why young stars need to do this and that Karan had that relationship on the stars to get them going and say yes to being a part of the project,” says a source.

When contacted Imran confirmed the news to us. "Karan and I had been talking about putting together a campaign to encourage young people to get involved. I wanted to push people to register and vote rather than doing nothing. He also felt strongly about it and offered to put the project together through Dharma productions."
"We brainstormed a bit and this is what we came up with. It's just a small step but it will grow," adds Khan.

Dostana director Tarun Mansukhani is going to be directing each of these videos that will have Bollywood’s young brigade urging India’s youth to go out and vote. Joining Tarun Masukhani is politician Mukul Deora who has in fact also worked on the creative side of the project – he is writing the dialogues for the stars.
Another actor who is urging the public to vote is Aamir Khan. While he may not be a part of Karan’s project he has lent his name to the Association of Democratic Reform (ADR). Aamir has not only produced three advertisements that raise awareness about voting among the people, but also acted in all of them.
