Shilpa comforts dying Jade

Bollywood beauty Shilpa Shetty has reached out to cancer-stricken TV star Jade Goody after receiving an invite to the terminally-ill British personalities wedding.
Shetty, who won’t be able to attend tragic Jade’s big day on Sunday, has spoken of her despair when she heard the news that her former Big Brother housemate’s cancer was incurable.

The pair, who were caught up in a heated racism row when they were in the Big Brother house, have since put their differences aside as brave jade battled cervival cancer.

Shilpa was devastated to learn earlier this year that jade had only months to live after her cancer spread.

"I called her (Goody), hoping it (deteriorating health) was only a rumour, but she confirmed it. Jade being Jade, shifted the topic to her wedding on Sunday and she invited me for it," Shilpa posted on her blog.

Shilpa writes that she went through a gamut of emotions when Goody invited her for her wedding with 21-year-old Jack Tweed.

"It was a lot of mixed feelings - happiness, helplessness and extreme sadness," she said.

The two met in 2007 on the British reality show "Celebrity Big Brother" and Shilpa became a victim of Goody's racial discrimination on the show. Later, Shilpa and Goody became good friends.

Shilpa, however, won't be able to attend the wedding due to her prior commitments. She will be shooting in Kuala Lumpur.
