I will get an eight-pack if my role needs it: Bebo

Kareena Kapoor's size zero figure made more news than her movie Tashan did. Dressed in a white shirt with fitting white pants, her trademark bright nails in place, with electric blue liner that highlighted her beautiful green eyes, Kareena was a picture of perfection at a recent book launch. The thorough professional arrived on time.

With the casual air of a superstar, she expertly autographed copies of the book Don't Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight for enthusiastic fans from around the country who gave her little gifts and told her how much they adored her. She was surrounded by media persons on all sides, and coolly ignored questions about her personal life (I will not talk about my personal life, she declared) and answered only those about the book. We had no choice but to oblige.

"I am not a size zero and I haven't invented size zero. It is not that I survived on juices to lose weight; I ate everything in moderation and exercised properly to lose weight. I want to meet the person who started these size zero stories!" exclaims the svelte actress.

But whatever she may say, she started the trend of size zero in India. So does she take it as praise or criticism? "I take it is as a compliment because models in Milan and Paris are size zero and it is great if I have been able to achieve that look," says the beauty with pride.

Size zero or not, Kareena is one of the slimmest actresses in B-town. Which other actress is fit according to her? "I don't watch too many movies, so I don't know," she says bluntly, adding diplomatically, "I think everyone is good in their own places and their bodies suit them. As far as my weight and figure is concerned, I change it according to my role. Tashan required that really lean figure, so I got it. Actors get 6 and 8 pack abs for their movies, if my role requires me to acquire 8 pack abs, I will do that too."

So what is her favourite meal of the day? "I keep telling my dietician Rujuta that I love a hot thrilling breakfast like parathas as it sets my day. I look forward to a filling breakfast as it gets me going. I eat everything, even my favourite Chinese food and dal makhani, but in moderation.”

Speaking about her dietician Rujuta Diwekar and the book Don't Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight, the unofficial ambassador says, "Rujuta has changed my attitude and relationship with food and the way I eat. She has changed my life. The book is all her hard work and I am happy to promote it."
