Akshay Kumar attends the launch of Asian Heart Institute's cardiac air ambulance
Akshay Kumar is one actor who is always known to extend a helping hand to social causes. Yesterday the 'Khiladi' Kumar visited the Asian Heart Institute at BKC and looked on as Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss inaugurated the hospital's emergency air ambulance service.
The air-ambulance service, priced at Rs.85000, will also be available to patients from rural parts of the state and those seeking treatment at other hospitals. A 24 hour cardiac care helpline has also been launched.
For the time-being, the chopper would land only at Juhu airport and Mahalaxmi racecourse although authorities are requesting MMRDA to construct a helipad atop the Asian Heart Institute.
