John Abraham gifted girlfriend Bipasha Basu a Gucci handbag

While diamonds are a woman's best friend designer bags don't come too far down the list and certainly not when they are gifted by your boyfriend! Naturally, when John Abraham gifted Bipasha Basu a $3250 (Rs 15 lakh) brown-and-gold Gucci Babouska Medium Boston, she was thrilled especially when that was what she had set her heart on. And guess who else uses a Gucci Babouska Medium Boston bag? Bipasha's style icon pop singer Rihanna!

Bipasha, who got back from a 10-day holiday in USA with John to walk the ramp for Maheka Mirpuri says, "When I went to Philadelphia (John was shooting for Kabir Khan's New York) and then New York with him, I would covet the Babouska every time I would walk into a store. But ever since I started renovating my Bandra flat, I save every rupee as I want to spend it judiciously on furnishings and decorations. I don't splurge on other things but focus on home. I think John saw me looking longingly at the bag and one day he just went and bought it for me! I was thrilled! It's a very exciting gift and something I really wanted."

Talking about her ramp walk as showstopper for designer Maheka Mirpuri Bipasha says, "This time I went in for a more old-worldly look with my hair tied back and thanks to my team of stylists, Anil Chinappa and Madhuri Nakhle, I could pull it off stylishly. I wore a ghaghra-choli for Maheka."
