Salman bags 89 crore for TV show

After the Big B, Shah Rukh Khan and Suniel Shetty, it's time for macho man Salman Khan to hit the small screen. The actor is all set to host a reality show on Sony Entertainment Television. The show will be aired in June 2008, around the same time as SRK's Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? on Star Plus.

According to a close source, Salman will be paid a whopping Rs 89 crore for 104 episodes of this show. Though the format of this show is ready, the channel is keeping it under wraps for the time being.

"Salman's witty and charming behaviour on the sets of Amul Star Voice of India Chhote Ustaad impressed the makers to approach him for this show", revealed Vikas Kapoor, who manages the actor's work.

Trying to avoid any questions on the actor's huge pay package for the show, Vikas continued, "Yes, Salman will host a show on Television but I can't reveal the amount charged. The makers were keen to have Salman on the show. Salman plans to announce this very soon."

Salman Khan is also planning the launch of his line of clothings. The actor sported a T-shirt hand painted by him at the music launch of Jimmy recently. He is planning to auction these shirts as and when he finishes painting them it seems.

As Vikas says, "These shirts will be available at all leading stores. Salman has big plans for the future. And we'll definitely keep you informed."

The earnings from these auctions will go to the Salman Khan Foundation. This Foundation takes care of the underprivileged and needy. Not many are aware that the actor spends his spare time at the Home Of The Aged in Bandra.
