Shah Rukh gives away title

Shah Rukh Khan has become quite generous these days. After showering his friends with lavish gifts, he has now gifted the title as well as the remake rights of Rahul Rawail's Arjun to his friend Nikhil Dwivedi. And since it is a 'gift', it comes with no strings attached.

Nikhil is making his debut in My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves, and will play Arjun in the remake as well. Anurag Kashyap will write the story and Shivam Nair will direct it.

We asked Nikhil Dwivedi if this generosity had anything to do with the fact that he at one time handled the marketing for Videocon, for which SRK is the brand ambassador. Nikhil vehemently denied it. "These people in the industry just want to spread rumours. I share a good rapport with Shahrukhji because his Red Chillies production house was involved with the making of My Name is Anthony Gonsalves. When I came to know that he has the remake rights of Arjun, I approached him and he gave me the rights. It simply reflects he faith in our team and our capacity. "

Shivam Nair who earlier directed Ahista Ahista says, "It is a remake, but not frame to frame. I have made some changes. As in the original, the new Arjun too is about today's youth. Sunny's Arjun was on youth employment and their survival. In my film the youth are shown as employed but we dwell on the problems they face in their life. You can call it another Rang De Basanti or Halla Bol. Now, we are in the search of a producer".

The earlier Arjun was produced by Sunil Soorma and Karim Morani and directed by Rahul Rawail. This Sunny-Dimple starrer was released in 1985 and did very well at the box office windows.
