Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt may have to go to jail yet again

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is scheduled to appear before the special TADA court that held the trial in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case on Saturday. The Supreme Court had granted the actor interim bail on August 20, and said he could apply for regular bail and file an appeal against the verdict after he got a copy of the judgement.

If Dutt is given a copy of the court's judgement, he will have to surrender immediately. He will then be expected to be sent back to Pune's Yerwada jail, where he spent 22 days last month.

During his temporary reprieve, Dutt has been busy completing his movie contracts, with six movies in production and other commitments, which had been left half undone when he was sent to jail.

Dutt, convicted for possessing arms that came as part of contraband smuggled in by conspirators of the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, was sentenced to six years of rigorous imprisonment.

Dutt was among 100 people found guilty by the court which sentenced 12 of them to death and 20 to life in prison while handing varied jail terms and fines to the rest.
